Teacher welcomes the class and introduces herself .
" Good morning everyone! Welcome to San Miguel National High School, Senior High School! I will be your adviser and subject teacher for Beauty Care Nail Care. My name is Rica Brosa. (Write your name on the board to make sure they spell your name correctly) I am a Senior High School Teacher teaching in Technical Vocational Track (TVL) major in Home Economics. I have National Certificates for Nail Care, Hair Dressing, Housekeeping and Bread and Pastry. I have been teaching Nail Care for 5 years now and I am happy to be assigned as your Nail Care teacher. I am also your teacher in "English for Academic and Professional Purposes" and I am also confident to teach you that because I have 2 years experience in teaching Japanese, Chinese and Korean students. I also took up Masters of Art in teaching English and now ready to teach you.
Since I am done introducing myself may I also hear you introduce yourselves?
b. Establishing the purpose of the lesson:
1. From list below, teacher chooses one or two questions for the class to answer. Subject teachers coordinate with each other so that there will be no duplication of questions used in class.

2. Teacher asks learners to bring out a piece of paper and be ready with a pen.
3. Teacher says: "Let's get to know a little bit about each other today." You are going to think of an object that best represent you."
C. Presenting examples/ instances of the new lesson
"Hello, my name is ______________. The object that best represents me is a/an ____________________ because.
Example: Hello, my name is Ana. The object that best represents me is a candle. Just like a candle I can light up other peoples' life with my positive attitude. I am a very friendly and helpful person and I am looking forward to meeting new friends here in Senior High School.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills
(30 mins)
1. Learners are asked to think of their responses and write them down.
2. After they have written their responses, the teacher will ask them to group themselves into at most five members. Groups assign a leader and someone to document the activity.
3. Group members share their responses
Learners may also be asked to present their work in front of the class!
